All of us are gifted with the instinct for flirting, even the shyest of girls and the most bashful of men. It is an instinct that is hard-wired into all of us, since this is the way humans have always found their mates since the dawn of time. The purpose of flirting has not changed much since our ancestors were still living in caves. Today, men still flirt with women with the intention of attracting her and asking her out on a date.
Guys flirt with the ladies for two main reasons. One is simply to have fun with the lady in question and to get to know her better without having to commit himself to a serious relationship with her. The second reason is definitely more serious and selective because the intention is to find a woman with whom to build a relationship, most likely for the long haul.
When it comes to flirting, there are endless venues and opportunities for which to get it done. You can do it at the parties and clubs you go to. You can go to bars and discotheques and scour these places for a girl you can possibly like. Even the workplace is a popular place for meeting women and flirting with them.
There is no secret to successful flirting – all you need to do is to exchange some friendly banter edged with a subtle message that you like the woman you are flirting with. You accompany this banter with eye contact, body language and somewhat suggestive gestures. It also helps a lot if you dress well, smell good and generally take good care of yourself. If a woman likes what she sees and hears from you, her response to your flirting will more than likely be positive, and who knows what that can lead to.
One possible problem that comes with flirting, however, is when the woman you are trying to hit on suddenly turns out to be married. What will you do at this point? On the one hand, there is nothing wrong with paying a woman an innocent and sincere compliment. Jackasses tend to hit on married women but a woman, married or not, would know if she is being played or not.
The question is this: Should you flirt with a married woman? We all know that flirting outside of marriage does not always end well. But we really cannot prevent flirting from happening if it happened spontaneously and simply out of fun. Many people are inclined to think that there is nothing wrong with that and think. These people firmly believe that the act of flirting is a normal reaction to meeting someone interesting and appealing. On the other hand, there are just as many people who believe that it is a mistake to mess with a married woman, even if the flirtation was harmless. These people consider flirting with a married woman reason enough to be ostracized.
Regardless of what you believe, you should always bear in mind that a married woman who flirts does so because there is something lacking in her marriage. Most of the time, the reason why she flirts is that she just wants to find a friend who can listen to her and hear her talk about her problems without being biased or judgmental. Sometimes, it goes no further than that; she will talk with you and flirt with you but she will not hop into bed with you.
If she does seem willing to get in bed with you, then there must be something big going on in her marriage. Maybe she is lonely because her husband hardly has any time for her. Maybe she thinks that her husband no longer finds her attractive and she needs to find some self-validation from someone else. Maybe she is bored with her marriage and the daily duties that come with being a wife and mother and is looking for a bit of adventure as a respite from the tedium.
Whatever the case may be, you should know that when you flirt with a married woman with the intention of sleeping with her, you should be prepared for the consequences. For one, it is entirely possible that she will never leave her husband and is just looking for a short fling with you. Thus, you can never really expect to build a serious relationship with her if that is your intent. For another, you have to be sure that you know your limits. Never let yourself become a married woman’s boy-toy and totally lose control over what is going on between the two of you.
A married woman who flirts with men who are not her husband with the intention of sleeping with him has serious problems with her marriage. It can be fun and harmless, but you can never really be sure of that. There are also a few repercussions to consider. So, whenever you flirt with a married woman, you need to be ready and avoid getting your hands burned.
